The first thing I noticed about Matt and Christina was how completely comfortable they were with each other. They’ve known each other a long time – since High School! The second thing I noticed was how fun they were to not only be around, but to watch. I realize that may sound incredibly creepy but the joy they create together is entrancing. Christina can make even the smallest moments fun and the way Matt looks at her and laughs with her is everything. They both have the awkward kind of sense of humour that I love so much and I knew it would be so much fun to document their elopement. I wasn’t wrong.

How did you meet?

Tenth grade history class. We became almost instant friends but neither of us wanted to admit when we had feelings for each other. Funny enough, our first project together was planning a mock wedding skit!

How long have you been together?

Finally, just before senior year I sent him an MSN message (HAHAHA) awkwardly confessing my feelings. Over the span of three days and eleven emails we worked out that we liked each other. Took another couple of days to figure out we’d “date”. That was ten years ago to our wedding day!

Who proposed? How did it happen?

We had talked about it for ages but wanted to get grad school out of the way. So, our first kiss was in the soccer field behind my parent’s house in NB. To propose he took me to a soccer field on Friday the 13th, under a strawberry moon, with a bottle of Nova 7. 😉 We were sitting in the grass and he knelt and popped the question!

What’s your favourite thing about her?

She’s a crazy free spirit, she doesn’t give a hoot about what others think and will whip off her shoes in the rain to dance on the grass! She cares so deeply too, does everything with intense passion.

What’s your favourite thing about him?

He somehow manages to make me laugh to tears at least once a day. He’s always up for an adventure, be it the other side of the continent or to Wendy’s at 2am for fries. He wants to make a difference in the world.

Describe your relationship in three words:

Let’s have fun.

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Crying laughing in the car on the way there listening to The Hustle. Oh and wine and chips in bed the rest of the weekend!

What are you looking forward to now that the wedding is over?

Travelling the world together, decorating our new home, trying everything new!

♥

I was pretty lucky that my first time documenting a wedding at Liscombe Lodge was with Dan and Lindsay. The breezy, fresh air combined with the early fall light and views of the river was the perfect match for two of the calmest, kindest people I’ve ever met. Ever. I’m so glad that I could document this day for them…..and meet their bulldog. Here are some of my favourite images from their wedding day!

How did you meet?

We met at work. Dan is a paramedic and Lindsay is an ER nurse. Dan used to flirt with Lindsay when he’d bring in patients and eventually asked her out.

How long have you been together?

Almost 5 years.

Who proposed? How did it happen?

Dan proposed on my birthday a couple years ago. I had a feeling something was up because he was acting weird, but I wasn’t expecting a proposal! He booked a beautiful hotel suite overlooking the harbour and proposed right before dinner. I was too excited to eat my meal, so Dan had to eat both!

What’s your favourite thing about her?

She’s always there for me and I know I can turn to her for support no matter what.

What’s your favourite thing about him?

He is so optimistic and easy going. He always helps me to relax and to see the positive in everything.

Describe your relationship in three words:

Thoughtful, supportive, loving

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

We loved everything about the entire day so it’s hard to chose one favourite part. We both agree the time we spent alone, while Caitlyn took our photos between the ceremony and the reception, was one of the best parts. With all the chaos of the day it was nice to have some quiet time alone as husband and wife.

What are you looking forward to now that the wedding is over?

We’re looking forward to our honeymoon in Italy and starting a family.
